There is a story behind every human being, thoughts behind his expression, emotions behind his feelings and a soul under the skin.
Each of us lives moments, experiences and encounters with people who inevitably leave their mark. Even the circumstances or people we think go unnoticed seem to reappear later in our lives.
It influences our experiences and feelings in a way that can be intense or passive and that we know they are not even aware of; They give us light and darkness and all the sounds in between.
We can understand and interpret things only from our own point of view and from our point of view, which we shape according to our own experiences of life.
So, how do we know what another person’s point of view might look like? What do we know about their feelings?
It is already difficult to dive into the depths of our own mind and try to understand ourselves; How should we know what are the intentions and motivations of others? How can we know how this person is in a particular situation?
We spend half our life discovering others and almost the other half judge their behavior as if we still have not enough of us.
Each person has a story and shows a sensitivity to certain aspects of the lives of others.
Situations that we can find simple or easy, or in which we can express ourselves, may not be as easy for others.
“The shoe that fits one person pinches another; there is no recipe for living that suits all cases.” -Carl Gustav Jung-
“If I were Mary, I would relax a little more…” “I don’t understand why Ralph doesn’t leave his wife, I wouldn’t be able to tolerate it…” “I would never be able to live like Christina…”
Maybe that person had a mother who always disapproved of her, who told her that she was never good enough, and that’s why she became a perfectionist with the constant feeling that she could be better.
Or maybe this person has a relationship with someone who constantly criticizes him, and now she feels completely unable to see the situation as it really is.
Maybe this person has always wanted the affection that his parents have never given him, so she is always looking for that love and affection, or she may be reluctant to receive care and kindness others.
Each story has more than one page; Each question has more than one answer.
If we were in someone else’s place, we would do something else. However, we are neither they nor we lived their lives. We only know the little we know about ourselves, and I say “little” because we sometimes think that we will react in a certain way, but when we are in the real situation, we can have a different reaction. or behave differently …
We should look beyond the obvious and superficial and consider that each person has his / her own story and background.
Everyone has certain experiences, feelings, emotions, encounters, biological and personal variables that we must summarize to understand the situation and context of their lives. A blind judgment brings nothing.
We should be aware of our tendency to make judgments. Only by listening to others and keeping in mind that their perspective is shaped by their own story, their own experiences and feelings, can we try to understand them. Sometimes, however, we can not fully understand this, and that may be due to our own history and experiences.
Always remember that there is one person under each exterior, a strong but sensitive soul who has his own wounds and scars and who has his own story.
